My cousin Hong Fei got married last Saturday, and alot of the Ho relatives came down to Malaysia to celebrate it.
Now, the Ho family, which is my mom's side, is a HUGE family. My great grandfather had 5 wives, and about 13 children. These 13 children had kids of their own, and their own kids had kids. It's SOOO huge, that because my grandfather is the 7th child, my mom is my grandfather's 5th child, and I'm my mom's 2nd child, my codename in the family is 7.5.2
Hoho, anyway, the wedding started in the morning at the Church, so here's some pictures.
My cousin Derek and I sat in the car with his sister Jacky and her bf Ted. We almost lost our way cos the Bridegroom's dad, who was supposed to lead us, was so anxious to get to the wedding I think he forgot about us =.=
The best man Bryan and my cousin, Hong Fei.
My uncle lent his car to be used, and according to him, his BMW car is NOT happy about having Mickey and Minnie on his front. Apparently it's eyes are glaring.
Sitting with Derek, Jolene, Jacky and Ted(half faced in this pic).
A huge Cross on top of the Mass Hall.
We waited abit for the bride to appear, since it's sorta an unofficial thing that the bride must always be fashionably late.
A close up shot of Derek. I was bored while waiting =.=
Finally, the bride arrives with her grandfather. I don't know why, but the men who bring the brides to the church for passing onto the groom always has to put on a stern face, as if putting THE FEAR into grooms the power of In-laws.
All stood up. I won't go into the minor details of the usual "I do" ceremony, but I'd like to mention that the Minister kept me(and my cousins) laughing. For one, he's probably Chinese educated, because he couldn't pronounce "L". So each time he mentioned God's blessings, he'd say "May God breast you." I'm sorry we're so evil. Heh, he even mixed up the bride's name Sherry with Diane. Who's Diane? Lol.
Anyway, with all said and done, the religious part of the wedding was over, and soon came the moment we all waited for. PHOTO SESSION!
The immediate family. That's the younger brother on the left, the bride and groom, and his parents, who are also my aunty and uncle.
Our family photo. It's not ALL the Ho's, just a small part of it that is close. Can you spot me?
This'll be the first time I've witnessed it in my life, flower throwing.
Not as graceful as it seemed, though. She threw the flowers at a wrong angle, and it hit the roof, bouncing to the floor with a yucky "splat".
My sister and cousin Jacky posing with the flowers. If you think they're hao, see later. Even worse.
Uncle Yew Pun with his moody BMW.
She dreams, he fears.
Hong Fei giving the thumbs up. It feels damn good to be married.
We went back to the house for the MUST HAVE tea-ceremonies.
And of course, more photo sessions.
Later that evening, the wedding dinner was held at Palace of the Golden Horses, located near the Sepang F1 circuit. On the way, my dad was so angry because somehow my aunty and mom who were in a different car phoned up and said they had reached 101 Mall instead. He waited for them at a rest area near the highway, before my mom phoned up again and said, "Oh! My bad! We were in the right road. Already at the hotel carpark."
Imagine my dad's ego flattened. Or in a more crude expression, "A man having his balls deflated."
The cocktail room outside was so wide. About 3 basketball courts put together.
The cousins posing.
I wrote ALOT here...but fucking stupid blogdrive canceled it. I have no more fucking energy to write...so I'll just post these few pics.
2006 has probly been the crappiest year for me in terms of weather. I didn't really give a damn about the heat streak a few years back because as long as the pipes in my house kept pouring out cool water to bathe in, the farmers and cost of food, etc etc inflation prices increasing, didn't affect me, a minor.
Of course, i'm sure everyone's realized what's the crappiest thing about 2006's weather? The storm. Everyday. Every-fucking-day, there's a storm. Not just any storm. Storm which blow off roof tiles, storm which break trees, and worst of all, storm which CUT OFF POWER EVERYDAY. When there's no power, I can't use the computer or the Ps2. I can't even fucking read a book because it's too dark.
The finale came two days ago, when my modem's network card got fried by the fucking lightning. I'm currently using my sister's laptop via dial-up to put up this entry. So, dont expect this blog to be updated for awhile.
I was at MegaMall Speedy a few days ago, looking for a CD from Jason Lo. Strangely, they didn't have it =/
Anyway, I found a VERY nice Soundtrack album from an anime I was in love with. Sadly, I didn't bring enough cash. Then, two small figures appeared on my shoulder. One was my inner devil, and the other my angel.
Devil: Just steal it. No one's looking.
Angel: Nono...you shouldn't steal what's not yours. Besides, can go dl what.
Devil: Shut your mouth, angel! The cd belongs to him by fate. What's wrong with taking it?
Angel: You shut up la.
Devil: Your girlfriend pepet so small.
Angel: At least I got..
=/ I was actually tempted to steal. But being the good boy that I am, I decided to just go home and download it. Haha.
There are times where money is STRANGE to me. I have urges to SPLURGE at times, and also sometimes I'm very stingy. For e.g, I had contacted Amanda's mom to help me with sending her roses for valentine's day. On the phone, I asked if she could help me get Amanda roses worth USD80(Rm350+/-). She kept insisting not so much, while I kept on insisting it was the amount I wanted to spend =.=
Amanda got the roses, but I was still not sure how much, how big, or ANYTHING about the gift. And finally, about 5 days ago, I received an email from her mom. "Roses has been sent. USD20. Hope it's affordable"
Ok. So the prospect of saving USD60(RM240+/-) is nice, but at the same time, I'm not joking when I say I fell off my chair in anime style when I fond out that all Amanda received for Vday is a bunch of roses worth USD20(Rm70). I mean, can you IMAGINE HOW SAD IT IS?? A small bouquet of roses...any girl would go like "RiIiighhtt....uh...nice."
2003 ==
2004 ===
2005 ====
2006 =
SWT. =.= At least now I'll have some extra cash handy. But still, imagining her expression, makes me feel like slamming my head on the computer table and say "NoOOoooOOoooo!!!!!!!!"
Boon: *Nudge* OMG, I just came up with a brilliant plan!
Luz : ...?
Boon: I'm gonna start a meme!
Luz : ...
Boon: It'll be the 5 prettiest girls to list!
Luz : ...5 prettiest...or top 5?
Boon: 5 prettiest! Anyway I gtg sleep. you do la. Tag me k?
-Boon is offline-
Luz : ...wtf
Alrightz, so here I am, possibly writing the most shallow post I've ever written. =/
Instead of putting just 5 pretty girls on the blog, I'd rather list them down as...
"Top 5 girls which I know well and I find attractive"
And in no way does this mean I'm interested in them. Thank you. As for those girls NOT in this list, you can arrange for a parang session with me at an alley. Kindly email me for arrangements at broodingeyes@gmail.com. I judge mainly by them as THEM, how I know them as a friend, the time I've spent with them, got to know them, and personality. And thankfully, none are butt ugly. Yet in the end of the day, we're all equal, and this is just a shallow meme thought up by Boon Heng =) I mean seriously, if I judged jusy by looks, it'd be SO easy because...well, pretty faces are just SO common. But it takes a REAL girl to make you befriend them and yet find them attractive.
I'd like to put Amanda in it, but since it's obvious that she'll beat everyone in EVERY aspect, I don't see the point. =p
Anyway, here's the first one:
Name: Xiao Yu
Reason: I got to know Xiao Yu very well through...urm...actually, I don't know how I got to know her. Hmmm. Anyway, I think the main reason why Xiao Yu seems so attractive to me is because of her OPEN-ness. She's blunt, but in a nice way. There's definitely an emotional side to her, and she really isn't afraid to share and write about it. It's abit different in school though, because I like to say she's always wearing a Kabuki Mask, hiding away her true feelings. She's strong hearted, and I like that alot about Xiao.
Best moment with her: Taking a walk in the park at night and talking about all her ex's.
Cassandra's abit of a mixed feeling. I don't actually LIKE LIKE her,(oh no, Adrian'd have a fit =.=) but I just can't seem to get enough of her. She's funny, pretty, smart, and to top it all off gives you a warm and comfortable feeling whenever she's near. I got to know her in Form 1, but we only got closer in Form 3. I've seen her been through some tough times, and this girl still prevails. She's a go getter who is EASILY dissapointed in herself whenever she can't achieve what she strived for, but that just makes her even more persevered.
Best moment with her: Probably our long ass conversations on the phone back in Form 3. Ah, memories.
I think Colin's laughing out loud. You know you are, you bastard =p. Anyways... I think Li Ching's a VERY VERY nice and interesting person. She's humble, yet lies dark interests in her. She's hardworking, but also lazy. She's quite, but has ALOT to talk about. Besides having been a GREAT help to me when I wanted to send roses to Amanda this year, she's also probably the person I most look forward to talk to each day in class. =) Rock on.
Best moment with her: Debating non stop on MSN. Ranges from anime characters, to politics.
Fern. Fern Fern Fern Fern Fern Fern. Fern? Fern Fern. I don't really know how to describe her, so I'll write it in a short story'd sentence. A bubble was in a field of sunflowers, happily hopping from flower to flower, until it reached a stone and popped.
She's also a gamer girl. So extra points for that =)
Best moment with her: Jogging with her and saying "Huff...huff...stop...cant...go on....*plop*"
Khe Chun. I have NO idea of how I met her, but I think it was somewhere around Form 3 and it involved teaching her how to bowl. I think. Anyways, this girl's probably one of the sweetest persons I've ever met. She's sarcasticly funny, and it's just FUN to tease her about the hair(which she cut recently). I also enjoy talking with her about how she only learnt English in Form 1, and me being a banana, we'd teach each other a word or two.
Best Moment Together with her: Playing basketball often with KC back in form 3. =) She's an athlete.
A wise man once said...or was it me? Ah wtv. A wise man once said that only slaves can truly appreciate the meaning of freedom. And I could not agree any better. The exams cut short basically ANY form of entertainment I had. I promised to myself usually during these kind of times, "After the exams, I'm gonna make the best out of my time. I'll spend it with friends, write more pages to my novel, and study abit."
And once the exam is REALLY over, I'd find myself sleeping everyday, occasionally waking for for a round or two of dotA. Sigh.
Well, least I didn't spend the first day of this short freedom in vain. Li Ching, Ben, Colin and Boon Heng spent the day with me at Sunway to watch Final Destination 3. It was a good movie really, except that my right shoulder still hurts from Li Ching's pressing against it whenever someone is about to die. =.= Some yumcha at Coffee Bean, did abit of shopping myself(pics later), and we checked out a car-mod competition. Surprisingly, the host of MTV's Pimp My Ride "Big Dane"(damn. he's huge) was present to judge the cars. More pics then too.
Watch Casanova with my parents that same night too. And to be honest, I prefered it from FD3. The movie's very funny, and I find myself laughing silly most of the times.
Anyway, some pics of the stuff I bought.
I finally get to read Dan Brown's the Da Vinci Code, though I MUST say I'm very dissapointed with the cover. Too many facts and quotes from book critics. It looks like a Microsoft Packaging. Hope the book content won't let me down, at least =/
This month's PC Gamer Malaysia. =) Lara Croft is back. Hope it's not as shitty as the last title, "Angel of Death." Fucking cheesy title. But still... Lara! *squee*. Yes, laugh at us gamers. We go goo-goo over shapely pixels. =)
I bought two new pieces from BodyGlove(oh shut up):
A greyish shirt. My mom asked me to stop buying black ones. Tempted to, but didn't in the end.
And a new pair of jeans =) I'm going through a Denim phase, k? One thing I love about BG is that the second item is ALWAYS 50% off. So I got this jeans for Rm65 which was originally Rm130.
I also bought a scrunchy. I plan to wear it to school after the holidays.
As if. I found it in my bag once I reached home. Li Ching left it in there. =p
Pics from the car exhibition:
I didn't know Mei Yoong bought her own domain. PLUS, getting McDonald's to advertise for her =p
The hottest couple at the moment. I call the pairing... Booching! Or LiHeng? or Chua Boon Ching? Tan Li Heng? They shared a shake at Coffee Bean, so I decided to take this sweet pic =)
Sunway Hotel's fabulous toilets. I'm a toilet reviewer, didn't you know?
Aightz...that's about all I did today. The next 8 days are prolly gonna be about nothing but sleep...dotA...sleep...dotA... and then some.
Kudos =) Btw, I didn't watermark THESE pictures with my signature url cos I doubt anyone would use them. I think =/
Subang has been hit by probly the worst storm that I've ever seen. It's weak, but it's my worst =p
About 3pm yesterday, the storm caused a power cut that lasted all the way till 3am, forcing me to study by candlenight T_T...
Anyway, Colin called and said that school might not open tomorrow(today) since it was flooded. I replied, "Hello, I live just down the school. Where got flood?"
Buttttt... from the ways the houses around my house were damaged, I suspected that alot of juicy pictures could be taken at SMKSU.
And true enough, there was.
Situated just outside the lower gate, was a pondok's roof. o.0 And from there, I knew bringing my cam that day wasn't a wasted effort.
Taman Gemilang turned into Taman Muram...
Broken rubble of our pondok. Now newly named, "Pondok Lego."
Shocked students of SMKSU.
Hmm? What happened to a strip of Dewan Berbumbung's wall?
...whoa. Luckily, no one was hurt from that. I touched it, and the thing is ROCK solid. Scary how the wind could do this to it.
The football field ravaged. Jo might be abit happy, cos now there's a big 7 on it.
Another shocked student. Terribly potrayed, though.
There wasn't much damage to the Flora area...but I can't help think that something's amiss.
Ah, that's what. The goal post, flattened.
I changed my camera settings, and the pictures from hereforth should should clearer and sharper.
Sharper pic of Taman Muram.
I call it...the Leaning Tower of Fern. Predictably, this is how she'll be like in 40 years. Bongkok. =D
The inside of our Dewan doesn't seem damaged, besides that strip of wall.
Roof tiles blown away. I heard from someone that the afternoon session peepz were having the time of their lives because it felt like they were in a part of a disaster movie. Chairs flying out of windows...etc etc. You know how kidz exxagerate. But Py's blog said someone was...electrocuted. Knowing how kei po our school is, it's strange that I didn't even hear it ONCE in school today. o.0
The form 5's were relocated from their ravaged classes( =( ) to the lower classes which weren't affected by the storm. Much.
Sunroof!
Flood in 5 Kappa! =D I'm easily amused.
MmM... I like this pic.
Taking pictures of disasters started to get boring, so I captured close up pics of people's eyes instead. =) I'm weird.
This is Iffah's eye. It looks very exotic, which Nab explained to me was because Iffah had Arabic blood. Ooooh... It's also scary, because it reminds me of Pn. Asmahan's eyes.
Zakhren's british eye. Classy.
This is Colin's eye. If it wasn't because I remembered that his was just after Zak's, I wouldn't even know it belonged to him. Shaved your eyebrows recently, Ooi Hong?
Boon Heng's eye. I keep telling him he looks like Jin Kazuya from Tekken Tag(Ps2).
By far the prettiest eye I took. There's not a trace of eyebags, a wirinkle, or even a mole. This eye belongs to Stephanie Tiah. ^_^ The fact that her eye is so clear(or maybe cos it's under the sun) gave this pic a really COOL effect. Check out the black of her eye, and you can see me with the cam.
Sigh. I, on the otherhand, have slits for eyes. Sepet. T_T
Pontenging is gonna be sooooo much easier. If Puan Wu or Puan Susela looks for you, just jump into the fallen trees. Our pants should be able to camouflage in it.
I started to notice how BIG the pondok's bumbung was after school...
Which is why I used Albert as a model for comparing the sizes, having tricked him into thinking it's for modelling, and that people really want to see his picture.
Go go Bert!!!
More coverage on the Storm can be read at Pei Yi and Boon Heng's blog.
MAKE sure you comment before going there first, though >=( Spent 2 hours on this post.
Bandwith costs money, and my abuse of shutterfly.com has finally come to an end. If you look at the previous posts, you can see that they are now ALL with faulty images that wont load. The printing website finally ceased all hotlinking, meaning my entire blog has been utterly destroyed(same goes to my sis, who is pulling her hair out now).
Guess I'm moving to Photobucket.
Because Photobucket does not provide a good resizing, I had to resize this picture myself to test it out.
You'll realize that I've decided to start 'watermarking' my pictures with luzzio.blogdrive.com. I initially wanted to copy http://pigtitude.blogspot.com and use a white cursive font, but prefered to be instead a little more unique and went for a little more...erm...well...it's hard to explain. But I kinda like it.
The original size of this picture was 1600x1200 at 796kb. Now, it's 470x353 at only 43kb. Not bad, eh? The problem with Photobucket is that there will be bandwith limits. My blog isn't exactly popular so there's not much of a threat there, yet sometimes for e.g. during the weekends when alot of people are online, it MIGHT exceed, giving an ugly "BANDWITH EXCEEDED" picture instead.
So from now on, posting pictures on this blog will mean at least three times the work, with an addition of resizing and watermarking. Dang.
Here are two more samples:
As much as I love photography and blogging, it's starting to become a hassle.
*Back to studying*
EDIT: Shit. I just realized the pictures are more than 200kb each. No high quality pics then. *sigh* Do I REALLY have to move to blogger? =(
